Calibre is committed to effective governance at all levels within the group of companies.
In understanding and promoting good governance, a Corporate Governance Policy was developed to underpin our commitment to effective governance and covers all of the elements that constitute good Corporate Governance.
From an operational perspective, Calibre has developed Systems and Procedures for Governance which includes:
- The identification of governance issues
- Integration into standard operating procedures
- Dealing with governance breaches and complaints
- Record-keeping
- Internal reporting
- Education and training
- Monitoring and assessment
- Identification of our legal requirement
Looking forward, we will continue to promote good governance and improve our methods of implementation. Through this we aim to:
- Enhance organisational performance
- Understand and manage risks to minimise the negative aspects and maximise the opportunities
- Strengthen community confidence in Calibre, particularly in areas that are not formally regulated
- Enhance the public reputation of Calibre through enhanced transparency and accountability
- Allow Calibre to demonstrate how they are discharging their legal, shareholder and ethical obligations
- Provide a mechanism for benchmarking accountability
